Question by bigdawgstuart:

How do I make an audiobook show up on my iPod?

I have an audiobook on my ipod, but it just shows up as an ordinary music
file. Is there a way I can make it show up in the audiobook section?

Open the Folder where the audiobook files are stored. At the top, go to Tools and then Folder Options. In the window that comes up, click on the view tab, and there will be a bunch of options with boxes. Find the one that says "Hide Extensions for Known File Types" and UNCHECK it. Now your files will say "filename.m4a", instead of just "filename". Right click to rename and change the extension to .m4b on each audiobook file. Afterwords, you may want to change your settings to re-hide the extensions, because it can be annoying to see all of those all the time. :-) Anyhow... that should make it so those files show up in your audiobook section on iTunes, and it also makes it so it saves your place when you exit, which is REALLY nice on long audiobook files.
