Why do many entrepreneurs who sell their businesses suffer from seller's remorse? For some entrepreneurs, who have sold their businesses, what emotional issues do they face after sale?

Answer by Mr. Peabody
Depends on why you're selling.
Is it due to divorce and you have to split the assets? is it because competition by larger competitors has squeezed you out?
Is it because you've spent 30 years (or more) painstakingly building up a successful business only to be told by your children that they have absolutely no interest in taking it over and can't wait for you to sell it?
These circumstances shouldn't be called seller's remorse any more than the bank foreclosing on the home you lived in for 20 years should be called seller's remorse.
Anything a person does year after year is a habit and habits can be hard to break. As long as a person has something better to look forward to (in any situation) then they're not likely to feel much regret - if any - for very long.
