I don't think the globe is going to have a whole lot of accomplishments to be proud of in 2010. Ice will continue to melt, too much land will be deforested, too much soil eroded, too many fish farmed. No, there will be no flood of new jobs or new home owners, and wars will not stop.

The destination of a sustainable, healthy, happy planet is still only a vision in a science fiction script, but perhaps we can move a little closer in 2010. And we can all strive to lead joyous and loving lives in our own realms.
